Smart home automation in Bangalore

KNX, DALI, and Zigbee home automation across 100+ Bangalore pincodes. Smart switches, lighting scenes, motorised curtains, voice control. Every project starts with a documented design before any work begins.

Typical duration: Single room in a day; whole-home automation typically 3-5 days

TL;DR. Smart home automation across 100+ Bangalore pincodes — KNX and DALI for wired premium installs, Zigbee for retrofits. Smart switches, lighting scenes, motorised curtains, voice control, all designed as one system. Every project starts with a paid site visit and a documented design: floor plan, device list, protocol choice, fixed-price quote. One team handles design, install, and support. 1-year warranty on every install.

Homezee has built smart home systems across 200+ residential projects in Bangalore since 2019 — apartments, villas, new construction, and retrofits. We install across all four major protocols (KNX, DALI, Zigbee, Bluetooth) and recommend the right one for your home based on whether you’re building new or retrofitting, not based on what’s easiest for us to install.

What smart home automation actually means

Smart home automation is not a pile of app-controlled gadgets. A well-designed system is a single coordinated layer: lights, switches, curtains, locks, climate, and scenes that work together and keep working without you thinking about them. The difference between a good install and a frustrating one is almost always the design phase — protocol selection, load planning, scene logic — not the devices themselves.

That’s why every Homezee automation project starts with a documented design before any work begins. You see exactly which devices go where, which protocol they run on, and what it costs, on paper, before we touch a wall.

Wired versus wireless — which for your home

If you’re building new or doing a major renovation where walls are open, wired automation (KNX for whole-home control, DALI for premium tunable lighting) is the gold standard — rock-solid reliability, 20+ year device life, no battery changes, no dependence on Wi-Fi or cloud. It’s only practical when you can run cables.

If you’re already living in the home and don’t want to break walls, wireless (Zigbee, with Bluetooth for simple single rooms) is the right choice — installation in days instead of weeks, no civil work, easy to expand. The trade-off is occasional sensor battery changes and a dependence on a powered hub.

Most of our installs are mixed: a wired KNX or DALI backbone where the contractor is still on site, wireless for everything added later.

Protocols we install

KNX is the European luxury-home standard — wired, bus-based, no internet needed for local control, devices last decades. Best for villas and premium apartments under construction.

DALI is a wired commercial-grade lighting protocol with the smoothest dimming and tightest colour-temperature accuracy available. We install it wherever a customer wants premium tunable lighting and the budget supports the wired install — not just theaters.

Zigbee is the wireless mainstream — mesh-networked, retrofits into any home, works with hundreds of consumer brands. The default for whole-home retrofits in Bangalore.

Bluetooth mesh is the cheapest and fastest, good for single rooms and starter installs where a hub isn’t wanted.

Lighting and scenes

The real value of automation shows up in scenes — one action that coordinates many devices. “Movie mode” closes the curtains, dims the lights to 15%, and switches the AV system on. “Morning” raises the bedroom curtains and brings lights up gradually. “Away” turns everything off and arms the security layer. We program scenes during installation based on how you actually live in the home, and you can adjust them afterwards.

What about Matter

We watch the Matter protocol closely but don’t actively recommend Matter-first builds yet. The ecosystem is still maturing, device support is uneven, and most customers asking about Matter are better served by a Zigbee build today with Matter-compatible devices added as the standard settles. We’ll revisit this as Matter matures.

Site visit and documented design

Smart home and home automation site visits are a paid, in-depth assessment — our specialist evaluates your electrical layout, network, room-by-room device needs, and protocol fit, then prepares a complete project document. Within 24-48 hours you receive a floor plan with every device placed, every cable run estimated, every cost itemised. The quote is the deliverable, not just a price. The site visit fee is adjusted against your final invoice if you proceed. See how we work for current site visit fees.

Voice assistants

We configure Alexa and Google Home integration during installation where the protocol supports it. Voice is a convenience layer on top of the system, not the system itself — the automation works whether or not the voice assistant is online, because the core logic runs locally on the hub or bus.

Pricing

Smart home automation pricing depends entirely on which rooms and which categories you automate, and on the protocol. Basic automation for a 2BHK (smart switches, lighting, a hub) is a modest investment; whole-home villa automation with KNX, DALI lighting, motorised curtains, and security integration is a significant one. We offer modular packages so you can start with a few rooms and expand later without rewiring. Exact pricing comes from the site visit — we don’t quote automation blind, because the design detail is where the accuracy lives.

Warranty and ongoing support

Every installation comes with a 1-year comprehensive warranty covering equipment defects and installation faults. From year 2, AMC contracts cover free service visits, consumable replacement, priority response, firmware updates, and preventive checks twice a year.

What we don’t do

We don’t do single smart-bulb installs or walk customers through DIY automation kits — our minimum engagement is a designed room, because half-designed automation is the thing customers call us to fix. And we don’t recommend Matter-first whole-home builds yet; the standard isn’t mature enough to stake a system on.

WhatsApp profiling is free — we’ll understand your scope, budget, location, and timeline in a few minutes and confirm whether your project is a fit before scheduling the paid site visit.

What's included

  • Free WhatsApp profiling, then a paid site visit with full system design

  • Smart switches, dimmers, and lighting control
  • Scene programming (movie mode, morning, away, goodnight)
  • Hub installation and configuration
  • Voice assistant integration (Alexa, Google Home)
  • Mobile app setup and handover walkthrough

Who this is for

  • New construction or renovation where walls are open (wired KNX or DALI)
  • Existing homes wanting retrofit automation without civil work (wireless Zigbee)
  • Customers who want scene-based control rather than per-device toggling
  • Villas and premium apartments building an integrated system

What we don't do

We don't do single smart-bulb installs or DIY-kit handholding — our minimum engagement is a designed room. We also don't recommend Matter-first builds yet; the ecosystem isn't mature enough to stake a whole-home system on, and customers asking about Matter are usually better served by a Zigbee build with Matter-compatible devices.
