The year-1 warranty on every Homezee installation is comprehensive. After that, an annual maintenance contract keeps the system reliable without you having to think about it — which matters more for automation and security systems than for almost anything else in the home.

What AMC covers

A Homezee AMC covers free service visits for the duration of the contract, free replacement of consumables (cables, mounts, minor fittings), priority response when something needs attention, firmware updates and app reconfiguration as platforms change, and preventive checks twice a year. AMC customers also get discounted rates on additions and expansions to the system.

Why AMC matters for automation systems specifically

A CCTV camera, a smart hub, a motorised curtain motor, an intrusion sensor — these are not install-and-forget devices over a multi-year horizon. Firmware changes. What’s included in a service visit

Consumables are covered; major hardware that fails outside manufacturer warranty is quoted separately, at AMC-customer rates.

Response times

AMC customers get priority response — ahead of non-AMC service requests. For a security system fault specifically (CCTV down, intrusion sensor offline), we treat it as urgent because a security gap isn’t something to leave sitting. Standard issues get a scheduled visit within the AMC response window.

Preventive checks

Twice a year, we proactively check the system — camera angles and image quality, storage health and retention, sensor function, hub and network status, firmware currency, app configuration. Most of what we find at a preventive check is something the customer hadn’t noticed yet. Catching it early is the entire point.

AMC for systems we didn’t install

We do take on AMC for systems installed by others — but only after an initial inspection. We need to know the system is sound, properly installed, and built on hardware we can support before we commit to maintaining it. The inspection tells us what state the system is in and whether any remediation is needed before the AMC starts. We’re honest after the inspection: if a system has fundamental problems, we’ll tell you, rather than signing an AMC on something we can’t actually keep reliable.

Pricing

AMC pricing scales with the number of devices and the complexity of the installation — a 4-camera CCTV setup is a modest annual contract; a whole-home automation system with theater, security, and lighting is a larger one. The value calculation is straightforward: AMC costs less than the per-visit service charges and consumable costs would add up to over a year, and it converts unpredictable repair costs into a predictable annual figure. What’s not covered

Standard AMC covers maintenance, consumables, and service visits — it doesn’t cover physical damage (something dropped, a unit hit during renovation), customer-caused faults, or the replacement cost of major hardware that fails outside its manufacturer warranty. Those are quoted separately, at AMC-customer rates. We’re explicit about this up front so the contract scope is clear.
